“The sheer presence of the Bluebird Underground Data Center, its high level of security, and its world class facility, is an enormous selling point when onboarding our enterprise-level customers.”
COLUMBIA, MO – January 18, 2022 – Bluebird Network is a communications infrastructure provider, connects businesses and organizations with more than 10,000 route miles of world-class fiber, two data centers, including the Bluebird Underground Data Center in Springfield, MO, and prestigious customer service. By remaining focused on their promise to empower customers through their digital journey, Bluebird Network is engaging a new era of productivity in the Midwest.
Stronghold Data, based in Joplin, Missouri, is an award-winning IT solution provider offering on-premises and cloud-based products and services to small to mid-sized businesses. CEO James Richards recently shared his experience working with Bluebird, highlighting speed, security, and reliability as the main tenets of the strong 10-year partnership between the two companies.
Security
“Partnering with Bluebird gives our clients peace of mind and a strong sense of confidence,” Richards says. “Knowing they’re in a fortified, redundant data center with multiple routes to the internet adds a great level of security for the client.” Richards went on to say Bluebird’s secure underground facility – the Bluebird Underground Data Center (BBU) – and service level agreements drive down client maintenance costs as well as customer risk and disaster management concerns.
Speed
“Bluebird is part of the reason we’re able to provide [our clients] such uniformity across our services and offer quick support and reaction capabilities. Thus, we’re more responsive because of the speed with which we can deliver.”
Richards is particularly impressed by Bluebird’s remote capabilities, stating that quick access to server data within the BBU increases Stronghold Data’s ability to respond to customers quickly and efficiently. “We have an enormous amount of secure remote access into the BBU, even down to the power cycling of servers and bare metal layers. We can do that remotely without having to roll a truck out there.”
Reliability
Richards touted reliability as another strong piece of the partnership between Stronghold Data and Bluebird. “The uptime of our Bluebird connection has been even higher than our other ISP’s multi-linked connection. We’ve found the speed and reliability of the Bluebird circuit is greater than other carrier’s circuits – even those supported with BGP.”
Richards said it’s Bluebird’s personal touch that sets it apart from other companies. “From our Account Manager to the CEO, we know we’re dealing with a quality company and quality people.” Richards believes Bluebird Network and Stronghold Data are similar in their customer-focused approach stating, “We’re in the customer service business, we just happen to use IT services as our vehicle to deliver that service.”
In addition to speed, reliability, and security, Richards praised the quality of the Bluebird Underground facility. “We bring people from all over the country who have been in many data centers and they’re consistently blown away at the level of technology, consistency and value that we can relay to them.
“The sheer presence of the BBU, its high level of security, and its world-class facility, is an enormous selling point when we onboard our enterprise-level customers. Many of them are simply in awe. The ability to offer them a level of service they would not be able to afford on their own – it’s a huge advantage.”
