THE BLUEBIRD UNDERGROUND DATA CENTER IS LOCATED IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI, BURIED 85 FEET UNDERGROUND AND SURROUNDED BY SOLID LIMESTONE ROCK. THIS BELOW GROUND LOCATION GIVES THE BLUEBIRD UNDERGROUND DATA CENTER IMMENSE PROTECTION FROM NATURAL DISASTERS, INCLUDING TORNADOES, HEAVY RAIN, WILDFIRES AND EVEN EARTHQUAKES. SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A TECTONIC PLATE, FAR FROM THE EARTHQUAKE STARTING POINT AT THE EDGE OF THE PLATE. MANY SMALLER EARTHQUAKES GO ENTIRELY UNNOTICED BY THOSE IN THE BLUEBIRD UNDERGROUND DATA CENTER.
To utilize the full potential of our location, the Bluebird Underground Data Center is uniquely designed so that all critical infrastructure is located underground. Dual utility feeds are backed up by two (2) MW generators and N+1 critical infrastructure components, including UPS, chillers, and battery back-up. Among underground data centers, this is a unique design and further ensures the Bluebird Underground Data Center’s 100% uptime guarantee.
Being underground allows greater control over the data center environment. Temperature and humidity remain consistent year-round throughout, with cooling units and a looped chilled water supply in place to manage irregularities. Within customer’s individual rack space, we utilize a hot aisle/cold aisle system and air sampling to manage the performance of customer equipment. Every aspect of the Bluebird Underground Data Center is verified by a yearly SOC 2 Type 2 audit, ensuring the privacy, availability, security, processing integrity and confidentiality of the facility are fully optimized.
Being a Bluebird Network facility allows the Bluebird Underground Data Center access to our state-of-the-art fiber optic network. Multiple fiber paths run in and out of the data center, providing high-speed, carrier-class Internet to all data center customers. Our network services are available to Carrier and Enterprise customers outside of the data center, through Metro Ethernet, Wide Area Network Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access and a variety of other connection solutions.
