True to form, Bluebird Network continues its mission of empowering Midwestern businesses with fiber connectivity, expanding into four additional cities by the end of 2022
COLUMBIA, MO – October 25, 2022 – Bluebird Network, a communications infrastructure provider and operator of two data centers and more than 10,600 miles of fiber, is excited to announce the fiber expansion in Salina, Kansas is now live. Bluebird is offering secure and reliable connectivity to enable digital transformation for local businesses in Salina, Kansas. A new, diverse fiber route to Chicago is also underway with the expansions into Aurora and DeKalb, Illinois. The fiber route to Chicago is projected to go live by the end of 2022.
Each of these network builds will have a Point of Presence (PoP) within the Salina, Kansas and Aurora and DeKalb, Illinois communities, allowing local businesses and organizations to leverage Bluebird’s full suite of high-quality, high-speed fiber connectivity. The Salina community will benefit from 13.63 new fiber route miles, while the Aurora and DeKalb communities will realize initial builds of 4 miles and 1.68 fiber route miles, respectively.
Earlier this year, Bluebird completed a network expansion in Waterloo, Iowa with 11.74 route miles of fiber in the local community. These network expansions support Bluebird’s company vision, “to have a fiber presence in 80% of communities across our eleven-state footprint with a population greater than 10,000 people.”
